30 Years After The Fall
Aimee Phan writes about the changes for Vietnamese Americans 30 years after the fall of Saigon.
“For most Vietnamese in America, this month is considered "Black April," culminating on April 30, the anniversary of the fall of Saigon. What initially consisted of bitter recollection of the Communist occupation has slowly evolved into a commemoration of lost relatives and friends, nostalgia for the old country and a determination to move beyond the refugee label.”
